We had a recent sports day on last Friday 22nd September. Our SALT team with the support of Ms. Jasinska and Ms. Kate wanted to “be a part of the solution, not the part of the pollution”, so we started a campaign about no littering and bringing your own refillable bottles on the day. Each SALT member announced the news to their classmates and our friends helped us from making this small step to a huge step. So our SALT team would like to thank everyone- all the parents and our classmates including ourselves.
Our campaign went successful mostly. There was very less littering of any garbage or plastic bottles. People tried to avoid littering not only in the stadium but outside too. I saw a parent stopping their child from throwing a plastic bottle on the ground. We saved lots of plastic bottles from being thrown. But yet some people did not follow it. Some students left their food and ran to the other stands, and when they came back they forgot about it. Some people threw the cupcake wrappers under their chairs as you can see the attached picture. So we aim at zero pollution on our next event and wish to continue this activity for our school.
